Course

This class is designed to provide union members, officers, and staff with a working knowledge of the operations and impact of corporate globalization, especially as it relates to labor-management relations. The course aims at detecting and refuting the myths about corporate globalization which are too often spread through major media and prominent political leaders of both major political parties.

LS 203 will enable participants in the class to gain a clear overview of corporate globalization and the inequality it fosters, and to concisely explain to union members and the general public the impact of corporate globalization both in specific local situations (for example, the threatened relocation of a plant), global capital flows, and the shaping of the increasingly unequal US economy.
